A POLICE investigation has been launched into an attempted burglary in Dorchester.

Officer are pleading for anyone with information to come forward regarding an incident which happened in the Lubbecke Way area, Dorchester just before 8pm on Sunday.

Police said occupants of a property in the Lubbecke Way area saw a man trying to reach through a partially open window.

When one of the occupants screamed, the man ran away toward the Dorchester Recycling Centre.

The offender has been described as white with a heavy tan, aged in his 40s, around six feet two inches tall and of muscular build. He has short dark hair and was wearing a plain white T-shirt.

A spokesman from Dorset Police said: "The incident happened around 7.45pm on Sunday 13 June 2021.

"Nothing was taken from the property, but the occupants were understandably distressed by this attempted burglary.

“I'm appealing for any witnesses or anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area or a man matching the description given to please come forward.

"Also, it was reported that at the time of the incident a 125cc style motorbike was heard leaving the area toward Kings Road.

"I would urge the rider to come forward as they may have seen something that might be of interest to my investigation."
