I am writing in response to the article in the Echo which asks for the reasons for the increase in the infection rate in Dorset.
Two weeks ago my wife and I walked to Bowleaze Cove from Chalbury Corner and spent a very pleasant half an hour sat at the RAF memorial.
A lady, perhaps in her early 70s came to look at the squadron badges to see if the unit that her father was in was represented.
We had a conversation with her about the construction of the memorial, during which she said that she was on holiday on Portland and was returning home the next day.
I asked her where home was and she replied, somewhat sheepishly, that she lived in Blackburn, but felt that she had to get away on a holiday.
Perhaps people coming here from areas with high infection rates, when they are told to limit all but essential travel, could possibly be one of the causes of our increasing number of cases of the virus!
