A GROUP of six supermarket employees will be jumping from 15,000ft in a series of skydives this summer in a bid to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

Employees from Waitrose and Partners Dorchester have announced that they will be taking on the challenge in the hopes of raising £3,700 which will be split between two Dorset-based charities.

STARS Dorset help anyone who has experienced sexual violence within the county and Dorset Mind provide a variety of support services for those who are struggling with their mental health.

Waitrose and Partners Dorchester, Community Lead, Alison Ford, said: “Supporting the local community is really important to Waitrose and Partners Dorchester and the Partnership as a whole.

“We wanted to support groups local to us and chose Dorset MIND and STARS Dorset for the work they are doing with people here in Dorchester.”

All six participants will be attempting the15,000ft jump at GoSkydive in Salisbury, across July and August.

Group spokesman George Blizzard said: “We’re all absolutely buzzing for the skydive. It’s an incredible opportunity for us to raise money for some great causes and to give ourselves a good bit of an adrenaline rush at the same time.”
