ALTHOUGH they were taken only 20 years ago, these pictures look more like scenes from 1220 years ago.
The Vikings were back in Britain on July 9, 2001, as a farm hosted filming for a BBC TV series.
Fifteen Icelandic horses and their riders were put through their paces at Oakfield Farm, Verwood.
The farm provided the location and several of the horses. Members of the Icelandic Horse Society of Great Britain came from across the country to take part.
Among the riders was Sam Crowsley, front office sales adviser for the Daily Echo, who brought her own steed and donned a fake beard.
