THERE is building traffic and delays following a broken down car on a key Dorset route today (Wednesday, July 14).

It was reported after 4pm on the A35 at the A37 Monkeys Jump Roundabout outside Poundbury, Dorchester. It was originally reported by Travel Dorset to be a crash, but Dorset Police confirmed it was a vehicle breakdown.

Traffic maps are reporting delays on the A35 up to the roundabout, which links the A35 and A37.

A spokeswoman for Dorset Police said: "We received a report at around 4pm on Wednesday, July 14 of a broken-down vehicle between the monkeys jump roundabout and Winterbourne Abbas near Dorchester.

"The vehicle was moved at around 4.30pm and traffic cleared."
