I have lived in Weymouth for 36 years and I love living here but I feel desperately sad and somewhat ashamed about how shabby it is looking.

The grass verges have not been cut and the roundabouts and other open spaces look untidy and unkept.

Weymouth used to pride itself on its gardens and pretty roundabouts but now it all seems to have gone to pot!

Added to that the town centre looks dirty and shabby with all the empty shops and sleeping bags and rubbish left in the doorways.

You would have thought with the influx of visitors this year, Weymouth would want to look its best so that people would make return visits, but instead it looks a shambles!

We have one of the highest Council Tax rates in the country and I feel we are being short changed by the council and the services they are providing.

Why are our town councillors not doing anything about this; they should be taking a pride in our town and capitalising on the booming tourist trade?
