A MAIN route between Dorchester and Weymouth has been cleared after a 'severe accident' this afternoon.
Travel Dorset confirmed reports of a 'severe accident' on the A354 Monkton Hill near the Winterborne Herringston turn-off.
According to the council, traffic is now coping well after distruption to travel in and out of Dorchester from the A354.
The Dorset Council website said the accident was 'severe'.
A council spokesman said: "Accident cleared on A354 Monkton Hill near the Winterborne Herringston turn-off."
