It was interesting to read supermarket comments on their policies to look after the health and welfare of customers after the changes in Covid guidance.

While they are in a concerned frame of mind about customers’ wellbeing perhaps they could issue a statement on their policies for stopping parents allowing their children to be carried in the trolleys.

Who knows, that child may have trod in dog poo on the way in - and we put our purchases in there.

When this is mentioned to staff they either ignore us or just say it’s against company policy but do nothing. As for direct confrontation to the parent, well depending on which supermarket you go in, the abuse is on different levels but all high.

Comments please, supermarkets.
