A DORSET Council corporate parenting board meeting that was due to go ahead tonight has been cancelled due to a number of people being unable to attend.
The meeting was due to go ahead at 5pm but was called off this afternoon due to the absences. The council has not stated the reasons behind people being unable to attend.
The corporate parenting board's role is to help Dorset Council in its responsibility to act as a corporate parent to children and young people in care, as well as care-leavers.
The cancellation follows a recent move to return to face-to-face meetings as lockdown lifted, after the Government ruled that councils can no longer make official decisions via virtual meetings.
The next corporate parenting board meeting is scheduled to take place at 5pm on Monday October 11.
