A MAN has been arrested on Weymouth Esplanade after police responded to reports of anti-social behaviour.

The arrest follows several earlier anti-social behaviour incidents dealt with by police during a very busy day in the town.

While most people soaked up this afternoon's weather 'responsibly,' the force has issued a reminder to the small minority of troublemakers that problem behaviour 'will not be tolerated.'

A spokesman for Weymouth & Portland Police said: "Officers from Weymouth Neighbourhood Policing have just attended an incident on The Esplanade following reports of a male acting in an anti-social manner.

"The male involved was located by officers, arrested and is now assisting police whilst enquires continue. The town is busy with the majority enjoying the sunshine. We would like to remind you that anti-social behaviour will not be tolerated."
