DORSET rider Brad Jones is in an induced coma after sustaining serious injuries at Brands Hatch yesterday.

Jones, 23, suffered a ‘highside’ crash and was launched from his PR Racing BMW on the exit of Clark Curve at high speed.

The British Superbikes rookie was unconscious at the scene and airlifted to King’s College Hospital, London, following rapid treatment from medics at the track.

Event organisers MotorSport Vision Racing (MSVR) are supporting the Stalbridge man’s family.

In a statement issued this morning, British Superbike chiefs announced the scale of Jones’ injuries.

“He will remain in an induced coma for 24/48 hours after sustaining serious head, chest and pelvic injuries and is receiving all necessary treatment,” a statement read.
