POPULAR Weymouth pub the Nothe Tavern is the latest licensed premises to announce it is temporarily closed due to self-isolation guidelines.

On Friday it was announced that the popular pub and restaurant on Barrack Road is closing for 10 days.

It comes as other pubs and bars have also announced temporary closures, including The Belvedere and The Nook.

A representative of the Nothe Tavern said: "Unfortunately we come bearing bad news.

"We are sadly joining the list of pubs having to close due to current government Covid guidelines, so will be isolating for the required 10 days.

"We’re really gutted we can’t accommodate all your bookings over the next 10 days and that our beautiful sunny terrace will sit empty… but the safety and well-being of all our staff and customers is always our main priority.

"We will be in contact shortly with a reopening date once we have confirmation from the NHS.

"Until we see you again, enjoy the sun, support our local businesses, be kind to all those in our hospitality industry and most of all be safe."
