A poetry performance day is being held in Dorchester on Saturday, July 31.

There will be live events in the Borough Gardens from 11am to 4pm including music and live poetry performance.

The New Hardy Players will be in costume and entertainment will come from the bandstand while radio station Keep 106 will be doing the announcements and conducting interviews.

There will also be a chance to find out the winning name for the borough gardens' writers rose garden in Dorchester Town Council's Name the Rose Garden competition.

Those with a love of verse can join poets in different locations around the town to hear poetry.

The day is being held by Dorset Way With Words, which is creating a poetry trail around Dorchester based upon all kinds of poetry.
