A DAY of the Dead-themed Halloween trail is coming to Weymouth and there a prizes up for grabs.
Weymouth BID, trading as We Are Weymouth, is launching ¡Alebrige! The Spirit Animal Trail - a Halloween trail inspired by the Disney film Coco which is based on the Mexican festival Day of the Dead.
Residents are being asked to get involved in the event by creating Weymouth-themed spirit animals which will form part of the trail across the town, which will be animated through QR codes.
The 10 winning designers will receive a £20 gift voucher to spend in Weymouth and a press opportunity.
A spokesman for We Are Weymouth said: "We would like you to create your own Weymouth-themed spirit animals from scratch - it's totally up top you how you go about this.
"To create you alebrije, you could either combine two animals or make a new fantasy creature of your own. Your character has to have a name and story related to Weymouth."
