A FEMALE has been rescued after she was blown out to sea on an inflatable.
RNLI volunteers rescued a female who had been washed out to sea on an inflatable off Weymouth Beach.
Wyke Coastguard were called to help but she was already back on the beach by the time they arrived.
Coastguard officers then made a public announcement on the beach advising against the use of all inflatables in the strong offshore wind.
A spokesman for Wyke Coastguard said: "We were tasked by Solent Coastguard to reports of a person being helped ashore after her inflatable got blown out to sea on Weymouth Beach.
"RNLI lifeguards from Weymouth and west Dorset recovered the casualty to safety.
"We then made a public announcement over Weymouth beach advising against the use of all inflatables in the strong offshore wind unless tethered to an adult. Coastguard Rescue Officers (CROs) also passed this information onto beach users verbally by walking the waters edge.
"In a coastal emergency, dial 999 and ask for the Coastguard."
