A BMW was found abandoned and partially obstructed a road in Weymouth - as police officers attempt to find the vehicle's driver.
Police officers were called after 1pm on Friday (July 30) after a silver BMW was seen causing an obstruction on Hampshire Road, near to the traffic light junction for Chickerell Link Road and Hampshire Road.
The vehicle, with flashing hazard lights, was found between the cycle lane and road, as drivers drove around the car to avoid a collision.
One witness said he first saw the vehicle after 12.30pm while driving in the area.
He said: "I was driving on Hampshire Road when I saw the BMW partially on the road as I drove past.
At first I thought it was a breakdown and the driver was around the corner, but I returned to the road 20 minutes later and it was still there."
A spokesman for Dorset Police confirmed officers are trying to identify the vehicle's owner.
He said: "We received a report at 1.06pm reporting a vehicle causing an obstruction in Hampshire Road in Weymouth.
"Officers are carrying out enquiries to identify the owner of the vehicle. These enquiries are ongoing."
