WEYMOUTH assistant-manager Louis Langdown praised the Terras’ attacking display during the 5-2 friendly win at rivals Dorchester Town.

Ahkeem Rose scored twice and Brandon Goodship added another in the first half, while Brad Ash hit the post.

Ash scored a deft fourth after former Terras captain Ash Wells pulled a goal back and the teams exchanged goals late on through Sam Bayston and the visitors’ Tom Bearwish.

Going forward, Weymouth were fluent and caused problems for Dorchester all game.

And Langdown lavished praise on the Terras’ display in the final third.

“Everyone likes to see goals and I thought the five goals we scored were excellent,” he told Echosport.

“The play and inter-linking was just what we want from the forward unit. We had to start from the backline as well, which was excellent.

“We’ve gone from back to front for numerous chances and the goals that we took.

“Dorchester sat in in the first half and looked to keep their shape. They looked to be compact and open them up.

“To come in at 3-0 was perfect for us and it could’ve been maybe four or five. Everything we wanted and worked on as a group really did come to fruition in that first half.”

In the second half, Dorchester upped their game to score twice – and Langdown believes improvements can be made in the Terras’ backline.

“Some of the decisions we made we probably wouldn’t make in the National League, I doubt,” he said.

“It is what it is, we made those decisions, a couple of lapses in concentration and I don’t think Andreas will hit that ball and allow them to have a one-on-one ever again.

“Credit to them because they were two good finishes. The positive from that is that we went up the other end and scored, reasserted our aggressive nature in the game.

“We could’ve had one or two more, hit the bar and Brad’s missed a good opportunity.

“The lion’s share of the game for us, as you would expect, no disrespect to Dorchester.”

Weymouth’s final pre-season friendly comes at Wimborne on Saturday (3pm).
