A FIRE crew raced to Weymouth Beach last night to put out an unattended bonfire.
Firefighters were called out to the tourist hotspot just after 8.30pm yesterday after reports of the beach fire, and used buckets of sea water to extinguish the flames.
A spokeswoman from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire Rescue Service said: "We were called to Weymouth beach at 8.40pm last night for an unattended bonfire, one crew from Weymouth attended and extinguished it using buckets of sea water.
"The stop was at 8.56pm."
