We were left a legacy in 2012.
We enjoyed the excitement and promised to remember the great events, protect the brand and ensure we celebrated our Olympic sailing events.
Being part of 2012 was incredible.
I go past this filthy unkempt sign at the gateway to our resort on a regular basis and feel saddened that nobody with a similar view works in our council’s tourism or business development department.
We fought hard to get the Olympic sailing events to Weymouth and Portland and cannot imagine the Olympic brand would be pleased to see how little we respect it now.
To every visitor enjoying their summer holidays with us this year; please do not judge us by the standards of our local authority.
I have written to the council.
No reply. I will find someone with a set of ladders and go and clean it myself.
