WEYMOUTH’S friendly at Wimborne Town will provide boss Brian Stock with home comforts tomorrow (3pm).

The Terras travel to New Cuthbury for the final warm-up of their summer campaign, the Magpies also bedding in their new ground.

Stock is relishing the occasion – and the chance to pit his team against a setup he respects greatly.

He told Echosport: “It’s a really exciting game for me for many reasons.

“I’ve got a lot of family in and around the area and it’s a local club to me.

“When it came about that we could have this friendly I had no hesitation, it’s a really well-run club and they’ve got a great setup.

“I’m looking forward to taking the boys for the game. When you look at their structure, and in youth football, it’s excellent.

“They’ve got some good people at the club and Matty Holmes I know very well. Obviously, James Stokoe (manager) with the first team.

“They’ve got a nice blend right the way through in terms of coaching and they do things the right way.

“With the facilities they have at their disposal it makes things a lot easier.”

Wimborne represent Weymouth’s second straight friendly against a Southern League side – two leagues beneath them.

Stock said: “I know one or two individuals and I expect us to go and take the game to Wimborne.

“In terms of a test I’d have liked one or two more friendlies at a higher standard or above us.

“But I fully expect, especially with their pre-season coming to a close, they’ll be thinking about their starting line-up and I’m sure the players will as well.”

Josh McQuoid is Weymouth’s only absentee with a thigh strain picked up in the 5-2 win at Dorchester.
