FIFTEEN homes could be built on a site east of the Franwill industrial estate off Down Road, Pimperne. 

The application, which comes from the trustees of the Thomas-Lukins family, says that forty per cent of the homes on the 7,800 square metre site will be ‘affordable.’ 

It describes the site as redundant agricultural land and says the homes would be built in red brick and flint with render and timber under dark slate or clay roof tiles.

If agreed by Dorset Council the site will have parking for 36 cars with a new access road. 

An outline application for nine homes on the site was refused planning permission in March 2020 which followed two previous withdrawn applications for outline permission for 39 homes and 30 homes which included land immediately to the north-east of the application site.

The Pimperne neighbourhood plan suggests that the site is suitable for 15 homes. 

Documents with the application say that the affordable homes are expected to be discounted open market or starter homes with priority to “villagers of Pimperne on the current housing waiting list.” 

It suggests that three 2-bed terraced properties and three of the proposed 3-bed terraces homes could be ear-marked for affordable housing.

Public comments on the application remain open until August 30th and can be made in writing, or via the website.
