A THIEF who stole a television from a Portland supermarket has been sentenced.
Michael Andrew Tambling, aged 50, of Dorchester Road, Weymouth, appeared at at Bournemouth Crown Court last Tuesday and admitted stealing a television belonging to Lidl on Hamm Beach Road, Portland.
He also admitted entering the Russell Hotel on Weymouth Esplanade as a trespasser with intent to steal.
Tambling was ordered to pay compensation of £200, costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £95. He must also comply with a treatment programme for drug dependency for six months.
