Within the space of two years, Dorset has suffered a substantial loss of democracy.
We have gone from hundreds of councillors making decisions about our lives to just 10 members of Dorset Council’s cabinet - all Conservative.
They make the key decisions which used to be made by dozens of committees on five district councils and one county council.
Dorset Council needs to revert to a more democratic committee system - and do it now.
They don’t need to be forced into an expensive referendum.
People need to see democracy in action, not a one party state making all the decisions.
