A PLOT of land near a famous street in Dorset is set to go under the hammer later this month.
The land on St James Street, Shaftesbury has been placed for auction by Town and County Property Auctions with a guide price of between £150,000 and £175,000.
Described as an 'unique opportunity' by Town & Country Property Auctions, the auctioneers say there is planning permission to build a detached two bedroom bungalow and off-road parking on the land.
It is also targetted at first time buyers or those who fancy a project.
The property is set within walking distance of the famous Gold Hill, also known as Hovis Hill after director Ridley Scott filmed the 'Boy on Bike' television advert for Hovis bread.
The view looking down from the top of the street has also been described as "one of the most romantic sights in England."
The plot of land will be up for auction on Tuesday, August 31, with bidding expected to open at 10am.
