A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to hospital following a three-vehicle crash on a key Dorset-Wiltshire route.

Emergency services, including police and ambulance crews, responded to a collision involving two cars and a motorcycle on the A350 near to Little Down Business Park near Shaftesbury at 6pm on Tuesday evening (August 10).

A road closure was put in place as emergency services attended the collision. Motorists in the area were advised to 'avoid the area' and follow a diversion route around the road closure.

An injured motorcyclist was taken to hospital for further medical treatment. The person's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing, Dorset Police say.

A spokeswoman for Dorset Police said: "We were called at around 6pm on Tuesday, August 10 to a report of a three-vehicle collision on the A350 near to Little Down Business Park near Shaftesbury.

"The collision involved two cars and a motorcycle. Officers attended with the ambulance service.

"The motorcyclist was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

"Road closures were put in place while emergency services attended the scene. The closures were lifted at around 8.20pm."
