BLANDFORD United have replaced manager Andy Savage with Josh Feirn.

Former Godolphin Atlantic manager Savage stepped down due to extra work commitments just two days before the new Dorset Premier League season.

Feirn will be assisted by Steve Smith and Ryan Park for the season, with Blandford United kicking off at Balti Sports on Saturday (3pm).

Feirn, together with coach Rob Andre, led the Royals to the Dorset Senior Trophy final earlier this year before losing 5-1 to Merley.

In a statement on social media, United said: "Blandford United are sad to report that first-team manager Andy Savage has had to step down due to extra work commitments.

"We thank Andy for his work in his short spell and wish him all the best for the future.

"We are pleased to announce that Josh Feirn will now be first-team manager and he will be assisted by Steve Smith and Ryan Park.
