A PORTLAND man who allegedly stole alcohol, tomatoes and a cucumber from a town centre Tesco in Weymouth is set to appear in court.

Steven Thomas Neal, aged 41, of Easton Lane, Portland is charged with theft from Tesco Metro in St Thomas Street, Weymouth and allegedly stealing six bottles of Smirnoff Vodka, one bottle of cider, two packets of cornflakes bites, sliced rolls, kettle chips, tomatoes, and a cucumber.

It is alleged the theft happened on June 8.
Neal was due to appear at Weymouth Magistrates Court, but could not attend.
He will now appear at the same court September 9 after his case was adjourned.
He was given conditional bail until his next court appearance.
