The number of new Covid cases which the Dorset Echo reports each day is pretty scary.

In the last couple of weeks there have often been 200 cases a day in the Dorset Council area and a similar number, and often a higher number, for the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.

It does seem a rather high number of people suffering in such a rural area and must be putting a strain on the NHS.

Perhaps someone in authority could tell the public if these are local poor souls or if some of them are holiday visitors.

It would also be useful to know if those affected have been double-vaccinated. A morsel of information wouldn’t go amiss.
