I was delighted to read that Roy Ricketts enjoyed his day out on MV Freedom with fellow residents of Gracewell.
The charity loves the opportunity to make these trips.
I must point out however that whilst the old familiar blue and orange vessel was indeed adapted to accommodate wheelchair users and those with other disabilities that is not the case with the new vessel.
Our new modern MV Freedom has been purpose built to an exacting design that provides greater space and access for a number of wheelchairs, those less mobile and the elderly, those with a sight or hearing impairment and many other issues. There has been no conversion and no adaptation.
We continue to be very grateful to everyone who supports the charity and we look forward to seeing you all on the quayside when the Lord Lieutenant presents the charity with the Queen’s Award for Excellence on behalf of her Majesty.
