We have been visiting the Bridport, Chesil Beach area for the past 20 years - this year the scenes on Chesil Beach West Bexington area resembled a refugee camp.

At West Bexington the whole beach in front of and either side was a campsite. The cleanliness of the beach was awful; beer bottles, cans and even human excrement could be easily seen.

The signs on the beach say no overnight camping. Why is this not being policed?

As a holiday time angler I can accept the small shelter tents the anglers use, but the scenes all along Chesil where access is easy made it feel uncomfortable to even try to attempt to use the beach.

Looks like it will be a trip northbound on the M5 for the foreseeable future unfortunately.
