WEYMOUTH manager Brian Stock is seeking another high-quality performance from the Terras ahead of their trip to Solihull Moors in the Vanarama National League tomorrow (3pm).

On Monday, Stock’s men beat Maidenhead United 3-1 and could arguably have scored more, hitting the post twice and having 11 shots at goal.

Following their first victory of the season, Weymouth are aiming for back-to-back victories – a feat only achieved twice last season.

Stock told Echosport: “That would be nice! Obviously we’re up against a very good side and it’s going to be tough.

“One of the main things to concentrate on from our perspective is back-to-back performances.

“That will be pleasing and I’m a believer that if performances are right then results will take care of themselves.

“I don’t know how to coach to win a game of football ugly, if you could possibly do that.

“In terms of our process and identity on the training ground, we’ll hope to replicate that against a strong footballing side.”

Weymouth will be up against a Moors side rejuvenated by ex-Notts County boss Neal Ardley, who has made former Weymouth loanee Andy Dallas a key summer signing.

Dallas notched 12 times in 25 games for Weymouth while on loan from Cambridge United last season.

Stock said: “He’s a threat and we know what he’s all about, he wants to play on the shoulder. We’ve got to stop the supply to him.

“We’ve seen first-hand what an effect he can have on a football team. It’s a good signing for them. They’ve had to put their hand in their pockets to sign him from Cambridge.

“It’s a good signing for them but it’s one where when you go up against old teammates or friends that gets put to one side and picked up after the game.

“Hopefully we’ll be speaking to him with three points in the bag.”

On opposite number Ardley, he said: “He’s a very experienced manager, a good guy, knows how he wants his team to play.

“From what I’ve seen early on in the two games they’ve played they’re a good side and prepared to pass the ball.

“If we can nullify them and impose our game on to them as well it’s got the making of a good game.”

Weymouth have a minor injury concern over Ben Morgan (Achilles), while Xander McBurnie (tendonitis) and Ben Thomson (Achilles) were in line to return to training.

Stock said: “Everyone’s OK. Ben came off as a precaution with a reoccurrence of his Achilles, but he’s looking to train.

“As long as he comes through training he’ll have no doubts for the weekend. Then we’ve got Ben Thomson and Xander both knocking on the door.

“They’re not too far away but they’ve missed out on quite a lot of minutes over the last few weeks. It’s going to take a while to build them up.”
