WEYMOUTH striker Brad Ash ran the Solihull Moors defence “ragged” with two goals in the Terras’ 4-3 win, manager Brian Stock believes.

Ash came to Weymouth from Chippenham Town this summer and enjoyed a stunning pre-season, netting six goals.

Firing blanks in the first three Vanarama National League games, Ash then struck a brace as Weymouth claimed an impressive win at Solihull.

And Stock spoke highly of the former Barnsley forward following his exploits in the Midlands.

He told Echosport: “I felt he probably deserved (a goal) against Maidenhead given his work rate.

“Sometimes you get your rewards through working hard.

“That was evident, he’s worked tirelessly and scored two fantastic goals.

“He really ran the back three ragged all the way through the 96 minutes.”

Stock also reserved applause for the 73 travelling Weymouth supporters.

“Special mention to the fans,” he continued. “They were really vocal, enjoyed the occasion – it helps when you win games.

“They stuck by the team the whole way through and I’m delighted for them to come to Solihull knowing we’ve got three points in the bag.”
