A MAN was shocked when a playful seal came up close to him in the water at Lulworth Cove and stole his flip flop.
Lauren Bird, 34, from Scotland, drove down to Dorset in her caravan to stay at Durdle Door Holiday Park while visiting family. She said they were walking along the beach when they had an incredible interaction with a playful seal.
In the video her cousin, Rudi Tarnowsksi, 24, is seen in the water with the seal swimming around him before it brazenly takes his flip flop.
She said: "We walked down from the caravan site to the beach and someone said there was a seal and so we walked further down the beach. My cousin entered the water and the seal came right up to him.
"The seal was just playing around him and all of a sudden the seal came up from the water with a flip flop in his mouth and he had to very quickly take it out.
"We've never been that close. It was very friendly it just wanted to play the whole time.
"There were lots of people but it seemed to really like this area and was just enjoying itself.
"We started moving away but it kept coming with us when we walked away.
"It's definitely been a highlight of our trip."
