A FARM in the Sherborne area is to be allowed to convert an existing building into a farm shop and café.
Dorset Council has given planning permission to Round Chimney Farm on the Blackmore Bridge to Stock Hill Lane about a kilometre north of Glanvilles Wootton.
The single storey 1940 or 50s outbuilding on the north side of the Grade 2 listed farmhouse is currently being used as a games room for farm holiday accommodation. It is described as being made of a mix of red brick, blockwork and timber cladding under a modern, monopitch corrugated sheet roof.

Four additional parking spaces are allowed for in the application.
The council officer deciding the application says that because of the limited size of the site the activities will be ‘self-regulating’ and has decided not to restrict opening hours as it is believed there is little risk of noise or other disturbance to any neighbouring properties.
The applicants, Mr and Mrs Rich, said in their paperwork that they were proposing to open Monday to Saturday 9am to 5pm and on Sundays and Bank Holidays from 10am to 4.30pm with staffing provided by family members.
