WE’RE all still waiting to hear from any leaders in health care – from Dorset Council or the NHS – about the continuously high numbers of virus cases.

The Dorset Echo published a letter from me calling for more information on this subject some weeks ago but there has been a stony silence.

The daily number of Covid cases for the Dorset Council area, as published by the Echo, is still running worryingly high at anywhere from 100 to 200 a day. Similar or even higher numbers are being reported for the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area.

The public wants to know where all these cases are coming from – from towns, villages or events? Or are they a mixture of locals and holidaymakers? And have all these cases been double-vaccinated?

The Government keeps saying that “we have got to live with Covid-19”. So we would also welcome advice on how we can help to reduce these local numbers. Such advice from a health expert would be welcome.
