MUSIC from 'Curly' the busker together with the sale of homemade cakes and a toy tombola helped to raise more than £320 for Julia's House children's hospice.

It came after the Dorchester Friends of Julia’s House were out in the county town to support the charity.

Chairman of the Friends Gill Slade said: "It has been a really tough 18 months for Julia’s House with numerous events cancelled and public fundraising activity hit hard, as well as the closure of our shops for nearly four months. So it was really good to be back in the town centre where we have always had such marvellous support.

"Times are still uncertain but the charity has been able to run some events again in a Covid-safe way and public fundraising is starting up again which is so appreciated. Our shops are also open and busy again."

She added: "Julia’s House relies on the generosity of the public to keep on caring, so we have been so grateful for the support received from the community. Fundraising has never been more vital. So a big thank you to Dorchester for your support."
