A ROAD has been closed in both directions for emergency repairs due to a 'high risk gas leak'.
Wyke road in Weymouth, is fully closed in both directions for all vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians due to a high risk gas leak on the Rodwell Trail.
Travel Dorset said the closure is in place between Portmore Gardens and Gypsy Lane.
Work to repair the gas leak will be undertaken by SGN, a gas distribution company.
A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "We received a request from a gas company at 3.28pm on Tuesday 21 September 2021 for assistance with road closures at Boot Hill in Weymouth as it responded to reports of a gas leak in the area.
"Officers attended and put road closures in place. The gas company arranged for signage to be put in place for the road closures and officers left the scene at around 7.10pm."
A spokesman for Travel Dorset said: "SGN will be working as fast as they can to repair."
