DORCHESTER Sports’ boss Ashley James expects the “toughest game of the season” when Merley Cobham Sports visit the Avenue Stadium tonight (7.45pm).

Free-scoring Merley have won all seven of their Jewson Dorset Premier League games this season and feature two former Dorchester Town icons in Nathan Walker and Matt Groves.

Dorchester Sports won 6-2 against Sherborne Town Reserves last week but James knows his side have their work cut out against dangerous opponents.

He told Echosport: “I’m expecting probably the toughest game of the season.

“Everyone knows that they’ve won multiple games in a row and I’m not even sure the last time they lost.

“We’ll have to be at our very best to get anything from the game. If we are at our best then we’ve definitely got a chance of getting a good result.

“But we have to be at our best for the whole game. Unfortunately, that’s not something that’s happened consistently this season.”

Shaun Bessant (suspension) and Nick Hutchings (work) miss out but defender Sam Buckler returns.
