Named as 'one of the most innovative, exciting and original trumpet players alive' by Jazzwise magazine, Byron Wallen will perform at Dorset Museum in Dorchester on Friday, October 15.
The concert, featuring the Four Corners band and hosted by Dorchester Arts, will begin at 8pm.
More than 10 years after his fourth album, Meeting Ground, jazz trumpeter and writer Wallen has released his new album Portrait featuring his band Four Corners.
Conceived when sitting in the central square in Woolwich, Wallen was struck by the community around him with its mixture of ages and nationalities.
Following a commission to compose a suite of music celebrating his chosen hometown, Wallen wrote his Anthem for Woolwich which forms the nucleus of this new album – taking inspiration from the timeless sound of the human soul from all corners of the earth.
Tickets cost £15 or £13 for Dorchester Arts members and concessions.
