DORCHESTER Town assistant Kevin Hodges believes a victory at Lymington Town tonight (7.45pm) could be a welcome “tonic” for the Magpies.

Dorchester go into the Southern League Challenge Cup clash having lost seven leagues and exited the FA Cup already this season.

However, while that statistic is mitigated by the fact Dorchester have played four of the current top six teams.

Ahead of facing the Southern League Division One South Linnets, Hodges wants a return to winning ways.

He told Echosport: “We’re frustrated because the performance have been quite good at times.

“We’ve let ourselves down with individual errors. If we cut some of those things out we give ourselves a better chance.

“You’re just hoping things are going to turn around in our favour. A cup game like this is an ideal tonic that we could do with. It takes the pressure off league games.

“I don’t know much about Lymington but it’s going to be their cup final and we’re going to have to be at our best.”

Dorchester defenders Sam Davidson (ankle) and Ash Wells (hamstring) are doubts.
