A 90-YEAR-OLD man is fighting for his life in hospital after being involved in a crash with a lorry in Ferndown.
Dorset Police received a report at 5.33pm on Tuesday, October 5, of a collision involving a white artic lorry and a pedestrian in Ringwood Road near to The White Heather pub.
Anyone with relevent dashcam footage is being asked to step forward.
A police spokesperson said: “The pedestrian – a man aged in his 90s – sustained serious injuries and was taken to Southampton General Hospital by the ambulance service for treatment. His condition is described as life-threatening and his family has been informed.
“The road is closed between the junctions of New Road and Church Road while collision investigators examine the scene.”

Police sergeant Sarah Jones, of the traffic unit, said: “An investigation is underway and I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to please contact Dorset Police.
“I would also urge any motorists who were travelling in the area at the relevant time to please check their dashcams for any footage of the incident that may assist my enquiries.
“Finally, I would like to thank motorists for their patience and understanding during the road closures. These are absolutely necessary to allow emergency services to treat the injured man and for an examination of the scene to be carried out.”
Witnesses reported a helicopter attend the scene, landing a short distance from the Tesco store.
