TWO men have been arrested after police seized suspected heroin and crack cocaine during a search of two males 'acting suspiciously' at a Weymouth recreation ground.

Yesterday afternoon, officers from the Neighbourhood Policing Team detained two men in the Lodmoor Country Park area for a search under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

"They were initially sighted by an officer on cycle patrol," a spokesman for Weymouth & Portland Police said.

"Both males were seen acting suspiciously and made attempts to evade police before they were both detained.

"A quantity of suspected crack cocaine and heroin was seized, along with cash following a search of both of the males."

Two males, who are not local to the Weymouth area were arrested on suspicion of drugs supply offences and remain in police custody. Enquires continue.

Anyone with information regarding the supply of drugs is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101. Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or via www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
