TRAFFIC is heavy in Weymouth as temporary traffic lights are installed at a major junction.

Urgent repair work began on Wyke Road this morning following the closure of the road for three days at the end of September due to a high risk gas leak, which caused disruption to motorists and pupils attending nearby schools.

SGN began work to repair the gas leak this morning. The Wyke Road/Rodwell Road (Boot Hill) traffic lights have been switched off and the junction is being controlled by temporary traffic lights, which is causing delays in the area.

The work was initially scheduled to take three days, but the gas distribution company has now said that they are unable to give a timescale for how long the work will take to complete.
