POLICE are stepping up patrols in Shaftesbury following a spate of commercial break-ins on industrial estates in the area.
Dorset Police said that they are currently working with businesses to investigate these reports and are urging residents to report anyone acting suspiciously.
A spokesman for North Dorset Police said: "There have been a series of commercial break-ins and attempts on the industrial estates, we are working with businesses to investigate these matters, and are providing enhanced patrols for reassurance purposes. Equally we can be contacted to give crime prevention advice if you require.
"Remember, call or contact us if you see someone acting suspiciously in the industrial estate or have CCTV that may help. Don't plaster images over social media, it may harm our investigation or prejudice the enquiry."
