I live in Bothenhampton in a Band F house and pay £72.97 to the Parish Council for the services I receive.

When I compare this to someone living in Bridport in a Band A property who pays £161.84 to the Town Council.

I can’t understand how this is equitable as I use most of the services in the town, only being a 10-minute walk away.

People who are arguing against the merger of the councils on the basis that it will put their Council Tax up are being selfish and need to look at the larger picture.

An extra £100 will make no difference to me but a saving of £100 could make a real difference to some people.
