DORCHESTER Sports are bidding to extend their perfect run of form at the Avenue Stadium.

Ashley James’ men have won all three of their Jewson Dorset Premier League home and host promoted side Poole Borough today (3pm).

Despite some good form for the Hornets, James is confident Sports will not be stung by the east Dorset team.

He told Echosport: “We’ve obviously won three out of three at the Avenue.

“We’ve got six away games in a row coming up after this one, so it’s important we keep this record going at home.

“We’re expecting another tough game. Poole Borough are in decent form and beat Portland (Reserves) the other night on penalties in the Senior Trophy.

“They’ll be up for this and it’ll be another difficult game but with the record at home we’ll be confident of getting a good result.”

Last time out, Sports were hammered 6-0 by Hamworthy Rec and James is keen to see a big upswing in performance.

“It couldn’t get any worse,” he said. “Let’s definitely hope for an improvement. Looking at training, I’m pretty certain we’ll get an improved performance.”

Squad-wise, Sports welcome back midfielders Darren Watts and Ed Bastick.

Defender Louis Hankin returns but Jamie Symes and Sam Buckler (both groin) and Ash Smith (hamstring) will miss out.
