IN THE last 24 hour-hour period a total of 532 new coronavirus cases have been record across Dorset, according to the latest statistics.

The latest Government figures show that 532 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the county in the 24 hours leading up to 4pm on Saturday, October 16.

In the Dorset Council area, 279 new cases were reported. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic there have been 29,761 confirmed cases across this area.

The rolling seven-day period for the Dorset Council area is 1,470 cases with a rate of 387.1 per 100,000 people.

Across the BCP Council area there has been a total of 253 new cases, taking the total number since the start of the pandemic to 48,154.

The rolling seven-day period for the BCP area is 1,191 cases, with a case rate of 300 per 100 thousand people.

Elsewhere, the New Forest area recorded 189 new cases bringing the number of confirmed cases for the area to 14,075.

The rolling seven-day period for the New Forest is 691 with a case rate of 384.6 per one hundred thousand people.

Across the whole of the UK today 43,423 new cases were recorded bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 8,404,469.
