Little Mix star Perrie Edwards - who went to school in Weymouth - is understood to be planning a new career as a lifestyle guru amid rumours that the band is to split.

It is reported that the 28-year-old star, who attended Radipole Primary school and June Hornby's dance school, is building a jewellery, clothing and cosmetics brand called Disora.

The news of her new business venture comes amid reports that Little Mix are to announce their split in November – with bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall also expected to launch new careers.

A source told The Sun: “Music is Perrie’s first love and by no means has she ruled out doing solo songs in the future.

“But she is keen to do other things too and knows there is a huge market for women in their twenties and thirties who want a little bit of luxury in their lives."

The source said she will be launching the brand "in the coming days" after coming up with the idea a few years ago and working on the project during lockdown.

As reported, Perrie announced the birth of her first child with footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in August. She used to live on Dorchester Road in Weymouth with her mum and brother, and her aunt and cousins also lived in the town.

An insider has said that the stars will be quitting the band after their 2022 tour is finished. They will then start on their solo careers.

The 2022 tour comes to an end in May, and this could possibly be the end of the band.

The source added: “There has been a lot of speculation about the future of Little Mix but it is now very clear that the end of the road has been reached.

“A date is set to announce the split. The upcoming tour is going to be a farewell to their fans.”

This news comes in the wake of a rumoured rift between the remaining members of Little Mix and ex bandmate Jesy Nelson, who has received criticism for ‘blackfishing’ in her recent single with Nicki Minaj, Boyz.

‘Blackfishing’ is when a non-black person alters their appearance to make it seem as though they are black.

The rumoured rift was highlighted by an Instagram live hosted by Nelson and Minaj, in which Minaj called the Little Mix stars “clowns”.

Videos shared on social media over the weekend at bandmate Leigh-Anne Pinnock’s birthday party appeared to show her react to the comments made.

In the video she says: “I know my character, you all know my character, everyone who meets me knows my character.

“That’s all I care about.”
