PORTLAND United boss Franklyn Clarke expects a “good game” when the Blues travel to Bashley in Wessex League Premier Division action this evening (7.45pm).

Both teams are recognised as playing attractive football and the islanders are looking to build on a run of four points in two games.

Speaking to Echosport, Clarke admitted he is relishing the prospect of facing Bash.

He said: “I’m looking forward to it, it will be two teams who like to play, get the ball down and move it – attacking football.

“They’ve had a young side for a couple of years now so they’re further on in their development and progress than what we are.

“It should make for a good game, who knows what can happen.

“If you said four points from two games we’d have taken that, so we’re in a good place. We go to Bashley with confidence and a full squad to choose from.

“We’ll give it everything and see what the outcome is. We usually perform quite well against the top sides.”
