THE fire service rescued 26 sheep from a flooded field in north Dorset.
In the midst of the recent bad weather, not only were people affected but animals in rural areas of the county were too.
Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue teams were tasked with rescuing the stranded sheep last week after a monumental downpour.
Firefighters from the wading teams in Sturminster Newton and Blandford, assisted by Devon and Somerset Fire Service's animal rescue team, herded the 26 sheep into a rescue boat and took them back to dry land.
